In 1982, CITIZEN launched the world’s first helium-tight professional diver’s watch made of titanium: the CITIZEN Professional Diver 1300M, which set new standards at the time and amazed the experts. Based on the unique design of this very special watch at the time, CITIZEN is now presenting the ECO-Drive Diver BN0225-04L 40 years later, made of coarsely blasted SuperTitanium™, which is 5 times harder than stainless steel. Titanium is also light as a feather, absolutely anti-corrosive and is further compacted by CITIZEN with Duratect technology, resulting in a particularly robust and super-hard surface. This machining process consists of several stages, which CITIZEN has given the abbreviations ‘MRK’ and ‘DLC’. The case and case back of this model have the highest level of SuperTitanium™ surface finishing. The CITIZEN solar movement CITIZEN Caliber E168 has been tried and tested in other CITIZEN watch models for years and runs perfectly, powered solely by light of any kind.

Case: Solid SuperTitanium™ with Duratect MRK DLC finish. The weight of the watch case is only 55 grams despite its solid design. Titanium cannot rust and is absolutely hypoallergenic. The surface of the housing is dark gray with a coarse matt finish. This gives it a very special and unmistakable look and feel. The ultra-grippy rotating bezel is made of the same material with the same surface and engages in 60 clicks, turning only counter-clockwise. The setting crown and the case back are screwed down.

Movement: CITIZEN ECO-Drive Solar Caliber E168 with 6-month dark power reserve and charge status warning function by 2-second increments of the second hand
Glass: extra-thick (3.1 mm!) mineral glass, flat surface, colorless anti-reflective coating on the inside
Dial/hands: translucent navy blue dial with a design based on the typical polka dot pattern of whale sharks, plus broad black hands with large luminous pigments, all equipped with a high-quality, extremely bright luminescent material, which remains luminous for a very long time and very brightly in light green (dial) and light blue (hands).
Watch strap: black professional diver’s strap made of soft but very durable polyurethane with a particularly solid ion-plated titanium buckle with engraved CITIZEN logo. The strap has functional expansion shafts that allow it to be tightened over the diving suit. Wearable length: 16.5 – 23 cm (without supplied extension element) The watch strap is attached to the case with particularly strong Promaster stainless steel spring bars, the thickness and pin size of which correspond to approx. 3 times the usual watch spring bars. The scope of delivery includes an original Citizen Dryi extension, which allows the watch to be worn over a dry suit and extends the strap length by around 7 cm.
